Dinner Date for Two
Gaius didn't usually go out of his way to try to impress people... actually he probably had never gone out of his way to impress anyone because he didn't think it was worth the effort. That wasn't to say he was lazy, though he was fairly lazy, no it was just that there were very few people he actually cared enough about. Oh he liked a lot of the people in his life plenty well enough... but Asuka... Asuka was quite different. What he saw was not merely a girl who stood up for herself, but one who was practically craving a love that was missing in her life. More than anything he wanted to be that love in her life.
So he was cleaned up, shaved, well dressed, and he even had a bouquet of long stemmed roses squirreled away in his cape to surprise her with. He made reservations at a fancy restaurant, using a few of the connections he had from ordering their pastries which were some of the finest in the cosmos. Yes, when it came to feeding his sugar addiction he made connections that spread across worlds to find the sweetest and tastiest confections known to mankind. Tonight though was more about dinner than desert... though he was certainly hoping that Asuka would be willing to have desert...Or be desert...
He cleared his mind of the dirty thoughts,Like Asuka covered in whipped cream and begging him to have a tas- no, no, he had to stop! and knocked on her door. He was still wearing what he normally did, but it was much cleaner, fresher, and he even cleaned out all the old syrup, sugar, and jelly stains from it. He'd told her she could wear just about anything she liked since that's exactly what he was doing, but he did drop mention of the fact that he would take her to a fancy place because he thought she deserved to be spoiled a bit more. So he was curious as to how she might look when she greeted him at the door, mentally preparing himself for the absolute worst, but hoping to see that gorgeous smile on her face again.
What was the worst case scenario? Asuka looking like she just came out of a blast zone with her hair lit on fire, her clothes covered in mud, her having a hangover from hell that made her look like a zombie that wanted to claw his brains out, and her carrying around the severed head of Shinji. Yes, he shuddered at the very idea of it, but even if things were at their worst, he'd at least try to get her cleaned up, bury the body, hide the evidence, have her skip town, and give her a raincheck on that date. Wow... if he was willing to go that far, he really was smitten wasn't he? He needed to get out of his head and stop being so damn nervous about this date... he had to be more cool and collected or else she'd eat him for breakfast. He was hoping to wait for the second date for that. Yup here he was, ex-con chuckling over a joke inside his own damn head and waiting for the girl of his dreams to answer the door on their first date.

Needless to say, Asuka stopped going on dates for a while.
But tonight was different. Tonight she was excited. More than excited, actually. Tonight she had taken the time to go out and pick the perfect little dress, and do her hair up all nicely and even wear makeup. Unlike those other dates where she'd just wear her school uniform out. No no this was special.
So when she heard that ring of the doorbell, she practically jumped out of her seat and ran to the door. Swinging it open, she flashes a giant smile and greets him. ]
Hey.
[ Theres a pause, while her eyes scan him carefully. ]
You look nice.
no subject
[There may have been an audible gulp out of the man when he saw her practically sparkle when she opened the door, his worst case scenario thrown far, far, far out the window. Oh right, he's not supposed to stare for too long right? Or would that be flattering? No, no, he still had to try to play it a little cool here. So he cleared his throat which felt dry from nerves, and smiled behind that blush on his face.]
I made sure to get myself cleaned up, but you... you look amazing.
[He reached into the back of his cloak, and with a bit of slight of hand, produced a dozen roses out of seemingly nowhere, with a quick snap of his fingers.]
For you my dear Fraulein.
[For some reason that felt like a nickname that just suite Asuka more than red did, though he'd probably have to change it if she ever got married.]
no subject
Ah.. Danke schön..
[ She did love it when he spoke German. The fact that he was trying to connect with her was sweet. Something she appreciated quite a bit. ]
Are you ready to go, then?
no subject
sexiercuter. With a little bounce in his step, he took her hand in his and gave her a wink.]Yup.
[One simple word, and he was leading her down the path to a limo where he had a driver waiting for them. Oh he had to give up nearly a month of sweets to afford this date, but he was trying to impress after all.]
I took the liberty of renting this for us, that way we can sit, relax, and chat on our way to the restaurant.
[There was definitely a cheeky grin on his face, as he felt proud of himself for being able to even work out the otherworldly services that were almost alien to him. Well... okay he got a little bit of help from some friends a bit more familiar with this kind of thing, but he was still the one who was footing the bill, so there was that.]
no subject
And a limo? Okay he's really trying to impress her this time.
its totally working]You rented us a limo? You really didn't have to..
[ But you did and that counts towards everything. ]
no subject
Yeah, but you see, this way I get to be with you my entire ride over, so really it's win, win for me.
[With a quick flourish of his cloak, he opened the door for her.]
After you my dear.
no subject
Well I guess you have a point. It'd be a shame if you couldn't be with me.
[ Smooth. ]
no subject
Driver, you know where to go, and if you could please drive slowly so I can enjoy my time with miss Asuka?
[And he placed it back down as their limo started to move, barely even giving them the slightest hint of a jostle.]
I'd offer to pour you some wine or champagne if you'd like, though I'm not sure about the laws regarding such things in your world. In Ylisse, it doesn't matter how young you are, but as I understand it your society is a bit more restrictive. As I told you before though, I'm not one for playing by the rules.
[He gave her a wink, suggesting in his own little way he didn't really care what laws she broke, he'd cover for her any day.]
no subject
[ But this is an offer, right? And nobody will know. And tonight is a special night. ]
Well I'm not one for playing by the rules either. In Germany we could drink when we were 16.
[ She holds out her hand, motioning for him to give her a glass. ]
Alright then, gimme a glas.
no subject
[He chuckled again as he poured her a glass and one for himself as well.]
I never thought to ask but how old are you anyway? For some reason that detail slipped by me when I was admiring you.
[He didn't really care either way, because he's from a medieval fantasy setting where if you both wanted to, you could marry an 8 year old for all they cared, and he even saw a few arranged marriages like that. In Asuka's case, she looked adult enough to him that he thought of her as such, no matter how old she really was.]
I'm about... oh... 23 or 24 myself?
no subject
[ Oh no. She's gotten shot down a lot of times because of her age cough(
kaji)cough. And her stomach feels like its in knots now because what is going to say?? She took the glass from his hand and sipped it slowly, bracing for impact. ]no subject
[His cheeks turn a little pink upon hearing that. Most of the women he knew were in their twenties some even their 30s, and here was a girl half their age. She'd probably still be looking this good when he was... huh...
He coughs, covering up that blush a little, but he can't cover up that laugh.]
Haha, you grew up fast! I wish I looked half as good as you do at your age...
[He could sense she was a little nervous about her age, so he gave her glass a little push to the side, and gave her another warm and slightly sensual kiss on the lips by adding in a hint of his tongue on her lips to taste at the wine there moments before. He then leaned back grinning with a blush still on his face.]
Fifteen, three, or fifteen thousand, you're clearly smart enough, mature enough, and built enough to make your own decisions on love and life. I wouldn't turn you away simply because you're a little less than a decade younger than me.
[He raises his glass in a toasting gesture]
As long as you're fine with it, I'll do whatever you wish.
[And he finished with a sip of his sweet wine, humming at the spicy sweet flavor.]
no subject
I-I'm fine with it.
no subject
[Gaius slid over and rested an arm comfortably around her a hint of a smirk on his face. He swears he's a gentleman, and he won't ever take advantage of a young lady, but what's wrong with letting himself be a little tempted now and then, right?]
Perhaps you could whisper it in my ear if it's too hard to say aloud.
no subject
With one quick motion, shes got herself settled in his lap now, and she leans forward towards his ear. ]
I said--
[ She whispers, warm breath tickling his ear. ]
I'm perfectly okay with anything.
no subject
You know... when you say things like that, you kind of make me want to do anything.
[He clears his throat, setting his wine glass down on one of the little side trays.]
They'll definitely be time for that later, but I promised you dinner first did I not? As much as I love to break the rules, as fired up as you make me with every single breath you take... Let me at least try to resist the temptation of doing with you all the things my heart has desired.
[Gaius caressed her cheek, looking into her eyes to calm himself once more, so that he could try to regain his composure. While he may have confidence, restraint was a quality harder for him to come by, and Asuka was becoming an expert tease.]
no subject
Hehe.. Alright. So how far is this place anyways?
[ Yup. She's still got it. ]
no subject
We should be pretty close, probably only another ten minutes or so. In the meantime, perhaps you could tell me a little bit about your life before the Eva program? I'll admit there's still a lot about you I wish I knew, and I'm sure you've got a few questions of your own.
...
Or if you'd prefer not to talk about your past, I could always share with you tales of the turnip market of Ylisse.
[Was that his way of blackmailing her? Or was he really thinking of sharing turnip stories with her?]
no subject
My life before Eva..? Well. I was born in Germany, and I grew up there with my mother. My father was always busy with work, though. So he wasn't around much. He was Japanese, so at home I grew up speaking a mix of German and Japanese. And then--
[ Theres a pause. ]
And then I got asked to Pilot Eva. I think I was 7 or 8. ]
no subject
[The ones who went through time to save their sorry butts. He knew there had to be more to the story, but... he definitely didn't want to press her right now.]
Lets see... I never knew my parents myself, I grew up on the streets for the most part, and had to work my way up. I don't really have many regrets about it, it's not like I can imagine my life going very differently, but my history is a little dark and colorful. But hey, I figure I ought to keep the score even. I say, we're making up for lost time in our past right here and now wouldn't you say?
no subject
[ Because really he's the only one she'd spend it with at this point. She picks her wine up again and takes a few sips. ]
Parents are overrated in my opinion.
no subject
[Because that could make their love life... interesting to say the least.]
Or is it just parents that are overrated rather than kids?
no subject
I don't think I'd ever have the time to be a parent. I don't think I'd be a very good parent, either.
[ Considering that all the 'parent-type people' in her life are awful role models.
or dead.]Plus if something ever happened to me, I wouldn't wanna let that kid down.
..So maybe I'll just spend my whole life enjoying a crazy sex life. Yeah that sounds fine.
[ She looks like she's in deep thought as she sips her wine. ]
no subject
I... I see... that could be... fun?
[He coughed placing his glass of wine down as the driver came around open the door for them.]
It seems we have finally arrived... shall we my dear?
[He offered Asuka his arm to escort her out of their limo and into the restaurant for which he'd made reservations for them.]
no subject
Taking his arm, she steps out of the limo with him and straightens out her dress as she stands. This place was fancy. She could tell just by the outside, and by the men and women with linked arms walking in, dressed like royalty.
And then she felt kind of odd about her choice of dress. But that didn't matter. Because she had a great guy at her side and a perfect dinner to look forward to. ]
Yes, lets.
